Their school mascot name is the "Banana Slug".

Moreover, students can get a part-time job to supplement their income, a summer seasonal job when school is not in session such as a UC Santa Cruz college internship. "College Works Painting California", a nationally recognized company, is one of those kinds of companies students can use to help build their resume or begin a rewarding and prosperous career in the home improvement industry. Students will gain valuable sales experience and management skills, as well as build their organizational and communicational skills as an intern.
